Today, Rev. Nancy brought us a message for Independence Day weekend, when we celebrate America as a land of liberty and justice. Nancy asked which comes first, the liberty or the justice, and concluded that they are always intertwined. To truly follow them in their conjoined spiral dance, we must look beyond liberty and justice as our own prides and privileges and look to bring the whole world into their circle.
UUFJC News and Events this week:
This Friday, July 11th at 5:30 pm, the UUFJC Board is meeting at Paddy Malone’s. All are welcome to attend.
Later Friday evening at 7 pm at the Fellowship is the monthly Reader’s Eye Film. This month’s selection is the dark comedy “In Bruges.” Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell await instructions to murder someone in this Belgian city (which is pronounced “Broozh” by the way). Contact Bob Boldt.

This Thursday, July 10th at 7 pm in the Art Gallery, MRRL hosts A World of Fermented Food, Part 1 of a two-part program with Maggie Hopper, Manager, Lincoln University Farmers’ Market and Community Kitchen. Part 1 will introduce the history and benefits of fermented foods, basic concepts, equipment, and choosing ingredients. Watch for Part 2 coming later in the month. Contact Madeline Matson.
