This morning, our own Marvin Feldman offered a message about his personal spiritual journey. Our members and friends come from many backgrounds and have walked many paths, and by sharing his experience, Marvin helped us round out our month of focus on "Celebrating Blessings," giving us a chance to celebrate the blessings of our diversity and togetherness.
For those who would also like to keep up with our neighbors at the UU Church of Columbia, their service from this morning is available to view online: https://youtu.be/YXf4_C1Zs0o
Also please note: I, your friendly Administrator, am back from vacation and starting work on the July newsletter. Newsletter submissions for July are due today; please email me any last-minute items ASAP: [email protected].
Next Sunday, July 3rd:
Adult Forum - 9:15 am
"Conscience Building," Betty Cooper
In the Introduction to the book, A Promise to Our Children, the author Charles P. Busch asks: “If it were your job to end war, where would you begin?” He added that that question has been asked for generations, but today it carries an urgency. Today our world is closely knit, so there is no need for war. To end wars, the “Promise” provides four foundations. At this session our focus is on the first: Conscience.
Our Adult Forum is currently available both in-person and via Zoom.

"Celebrate Freedom, But Know that Change Goes Backward As Well As Forward," Rev. Mike Adamek
American Women have lost a fundamental aspect of Privacy in 26 states in the USA which have or will soon have anti-abortion laws. In the same term, SCOTUS has struck down the New York State requirement that individuals justify why they want to carry a concealed weapon. So one Constitutional right for all female citizens is abolished by turning it back to be decided state by state, while another Constitutional right, the right to carry concealed firearms is removed from stringent state by state oversight and had its status reaffirmed as fundamental for all Americans. What is happening to individual freedoms in the return to states rights?
