Please help us update our Members and Friends Directory! Especially if you are relatively new here, we ask you to consider adding your contact information so that it will be available to other members and friends. A paper copy is available for review and you may write updates there, or you can request an electronic copy from Laura Gilkey and e-mail her if you would like your information updated, added, or removed ([email protected]).
Again this year, we will be displaying a Memorial Altar at the Fellowship. If you would like to contribute a remembrance in the form of a picture or favored object associated with a passed loved one, items will be collected in a box near the cafe bar October 21st through 28th. The altar will be up from October 28th until November 4th with objects and pictures returned November 11th. If there are any questions concerning this year's altar please contact Bob Boldt.

Monday, October 15th at 6:30 pm in their Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library presents an Author Talk: Ozark History with Natalie Prussing Halpin and Lisa Irle. The authors will discuss their recent book, The Captain and the Judge: Building Camps, Forts, Dams, Bridges and Character Across the Ozarks. They will focus on the lives of Nat Wilson and Max Prussing and their impact on the Ozark region beginning 100 years ago. Their book contributes to the historical literature on the development of outdoor recreation in the Ozarks. Contact Madeline Matson. For more library events, visit MRRL.org.
This Thursday, October 18th at 6:30 pm, Faith Voices in association with other local organizations presents a candidate forum at Lincoln University's Scruggs Center Ballroom, featuring candidates running for Missouri Senate District 6, Missouri House District 60, Cole County Associate Judge, and Cole County Prosecutor. Rev. Adrian Hendricks III of the Joshua House Church will moderate the forum with questions submitted by the audience. Legislative candidates speak at 6:30 pm, County candidates at 8 pm.
This Friday, October 19th, the Southside Philharmonic Orchestra performs at Central United Church of Christ on Ashley St. This very special program will feature music from the early 17th century – composers Claudio Monteverdi and Giovanni Gabrieli. Our program, Early Baroque: Echoes from 17th Century Cathedrals, will feature madrigals and brilliant music for brass. In addition, members of Vox Nova, the esteemed Columbia, MO choral music group, will be joining us in this concert. Tickets are $10 ($5 for students).
