Our booth at the Jefferson City Multicultural Festival Saturday was canceled due to weather. Items that had been donated for sale at the festival are still available for purchase. Contact Bob Antweiler.
Monday, October 9th at 7 pm is the monthly UUFJC Lecture series. Veteran journalist Bob Watson will speak on the topic "Toward Bias-Free Reporting". Contact Carol Bontempo or Frank Rycyk.

This Wednesday, October 11th at 7 pm in their Art Gallery, MRRL hosts a session of their continuing Mini Law School for the Public. Learn how to better navigate the legal field in this exciting series taught by some of the brightest legal minds in the state. Law professors, judges and practicing attorneys will share their experiences and provide insight on topical issues. Participants will learn about the role of our federal courts and the practices and procedures of our state and U.S. Supreme Courts. This Thursday, October 12th at 7 pm in their Art Gallery, MRRL hosts an Author Talk by Dr. Richard E. Schroeder. Dr. Schroeder is a Georgetown University professor, retired CIA officer, and author of a newly published book, The Foundation of the CIA: Harry Truman, the Missouri Gang, and the Origins of the Cold War. At the end of World War II, President Truman and a small group of advisors, dubbed The Missouri Gang, developed a new centralized agency directly subordinate to and responsible to the President, despite entrenched institutional resistance. Schroeder will discuss the research he undertook for his book and the CIA/Missouri connection. The book will be available for purchase and signing after the program. Contact Madeline Matson.
