"Cherish your doubts, for doubt is the attendant of truth."
Some of us have been wounded by religious experiences where truth intruded on the lessons we were taught but doubt was not allowed. Disallowing doubt can also let errors spiral unchecked into tragedies --- but when we turn too much doubt on ourselves, it smothers our ability to creatively engage with life. To resolve this dilemma, Jim pointed us to Nature's process of trial and error: evolution. With exuberance to try and healthy doubt to sift for error, we can find our way forward.
(Rev. Nancy TannerThies was unable to be with us Sunday. Our thoughts are with her and Roger and we wish him a swift recovery.)
