Roger TannerThies reminded us of the science of how our world and its web of life came to be; he believes in the science, but sees a place for the divine in the awe of it all. Jim Davis continued this theme, offering a way to "reinvent the sacred" as evolution leads to the unpredictable and spontaneous emergence of life into the "adjacent possible."
Alexis Engelbrecht connected us also to the Biblical creation story, where humanity is created in God's image given life by God's breath. Alexis sees "the image of God" and "the breath of God" as representing the ability to create --- not just to create artistically, but to creatively respond to life, to build adjacent possibles of greater love and justice and enhance the world around us.
Next Sunday, February 14th:

Questionnaires will be available at the service or by e-mail to those on the weekly e-mail list. Contact Alexis Engelbrecht for details.

Message: "Standing on the Side of Love"
More perspectives regarding what it means to stand of the side of love will be provided during a service in which friends and members will share readings, poems, and songs that support the themes of love, justice, and compassion.
