Summer is drawing to a close. The new school year has started, the heat has turned gentler, and at UUFJC Sunday morning, we took a moment to reflect on the season. Patt Behler shared some poems about summer. Katherine Connor reflected on a passage from the book "Dandelion Wine" by Ray Bradbury, about how the sensations of summer can make us deeply feel that we're alive. Laura Gilkey invited each person to write down and share one thing they can do to invite that deep feeling of life and to remember to do those things in the last days of summer and beyond.

Next Sunday, August 28th at 2 pm, MRRL hosts Music at the Library: Robert Roe “Osage Wind Rider." Robert Roe is a Native American-style flute musician, flute maker, and recording artist. He will discuss the history of the Native American flute and perform songs on instruments he has made in his shop. Contact Madeline Matson.
