Recently, the news has been an emotional roller-coaster for many of us, from the shock of the murders in Charleston to the elation of marriage equality. In her message this morning, Rev. Nancy asked, how can we take it all in? How can we responsibly "hold tension" between our core and the outside world? It's often tempting to collapse into ourselves and our like-minded circles --- whether to grieve or to celebrate --- but Nancy challenged us to reach beyond and engage, to "start close in" and "take the first step --- the step you don't want to take."
