Rev. Nancy suggested these seven questions for our reflection:
- What have I been hiding from during the isolation of summer and now want to avoid as winter comes?
- What is there about the darkness that I fear and therefore flee?
- What new life is stirring in me that can offer strength to my whole being?
- What is the source of inner creativity that I discover in the dark of winter’s journey?
- Do I feel embraced by my life, my tribe and my life companions?
- How will I embrace my community, encouraging my own growth and celebrating the growth of self and others?
- How will we encourage our community to reach out to those we describe as "other"?
We also announced the annual Guest At Your Table drive to support the UU Service Committee in its work with grassroots activists around the world. This year's theme: "The Meaning of Home." More information and stories of remarkable people UUFJC supports are available at uusc.org/resources/congregations/guest-at-your-table/. Donations may be made through UUFJC using the link or address below - please label Guest At Your Table donations clearly. Donations may also be made at any time at uusc.org.
And to all our members and friends who celebrate it: Merry Christmas!
