UUFJC News and Events this week:
The UUFJC Board has voted to adopt a motto for the Fellowship as a condensed, easy-to-remember version of the vision statement we created last November. The motto is: “Celebrate Diversity, Question with Integrity, Build Justice.” If you have feedback, please talk to a member of the board.
The UUFJC Members and Friends Directory has been updated. Paper copies are available for reference by our phones. Additional paper copies and electronic copies are available on request. Contact Laura Gilkey.
Our annual pledge drive continues! See our Treasurer, Bob Antweiler. Thank you to everyone who pledges; this is a big help to us as we plan for the year ahead.
The American Association of University Women meets this Thursday, April 21st at 7 pm. This month’s meeting is not at the Fellowship, but at the Lincoln University Small Business Development Center. See Charlotte Parsons.
This Friday, April 22nd is our monthly Salvation Army work day. Contact Bob Antweiler if you can help provide or serve food for those in need. Serving begins at 5 pm, please arrive by 4:30 to help prepare.
This Saturday, April 23rd at 1:30 pm, the Hola Amigos Spanish Speakers meet here at the Fellowship. See Patt Behler for details.

Community Events this week:
This Tuesday, April 19th at 7 pm in their Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library presents: "Know the 10 Signs." Find out the differences between age-related memory loss and dementia. Adults concerned about memory loss in themselves or a loved one, or those interested in learning about Alzheimer’s disease are encouraged to attend. This interactive workshop will be conducted by Alyson Campbell, representing the Greater Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Contact Madeline Matson.
This Wednesday, April 20th at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church, area organizations are holding a Landlord & Property Management Resource Luncheon. This event will provide landlords and property managers with an opportunity to network and to receive training and resources for housing low-income individuals and families. This Thursday, April 21st, Columbia Area NOW meets at the Hy-Vee Restaurant at Broadway and Fairview in Columbia. Non-members and new members welcome. Contact Sue Gibson.
Next Sunday, April 24th at 1:30 pm int their Art Gallery, MRRL hosts their Creative Cuisine Club. This month: International Food. Join the Creative Cuisine Club for a little edible education. Every other month is specific cuisine of style of food. You can sign up to make something in that style. Find a recipe in one of the library's cookbooks or from one of your own. Then just make the dish and share it with others in the group. It’s a fun way to cook and enjoy a great meal with new friends. Registration limited to 20. Contact Madeline Matson.
