Three members also shared reflection on men who influenced them. Patt Behler shared the many lessons she had learned from her father. Jim Babb shared the inspiration he'd gained both from friends he'd worked with and from men in public life. Alexis Engelbrecht shared how her life had been shaped by two men: one whose writings gave her inner strength, and another whose friendship taught her about love and connection.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the service. The display we made and the pictures and written tributes will stay up until after services next Sunday.

"Can a Third Party Succeed?," Frank Rycyk
Greg Orman, in his book, "A Declaration of Independents," states, "Polls show that 60% of US adults think that the two parties do such a poor job that an alternative is needed."
Service and Religious Education - 10:30 am
Message: "What Fosters a Sustainable Democracy?," Rev. Mike Adamek
Liberty and Equality are the roots of a thriving American Democracy. These ideals often conflict, but they have always been present in our history. While they have always been present they have not always been dominant. Some, like the No Nothings in the 1850s, would have us chop down the Tree of Liberty and fashion it into a Fortress America. This process always focuses on ethnicity/race and religion first. The future of our democracy depends on it thriving as a living organism and not as a dead target.
If you have a joy or concern that you would like to have read during the Service, please submit it by noon on Friday through our website: http://uufjc.org/joys--concerns.html
