Jobs, Service, and Work in the World

9/7/2015

Sunday morning, Rev. Nancy gave a message about Jobs, Service, and Meaningful Work.  When we're young, we're encouraged to make plans at the place where what we're good at meets what we can get paid for, but when those plans collide with reality, often it turns out that things aren't so simple.  What we love to do, what we're good at, others' needs, and our own need for money --- these factors have many ways of mingling in our lives, some of them great, some of them unexpectedly meaningful, and some of them not so great.  Those of us who choose our paths and live our passions should remember to be aware of our privilege.

Next Sunday, September 13th:

Adult Forum - 9:15 am
"White Privilege," Katherine Connor

Multigenerational Service - 10:30 am
Water Communion
You are invited to bring water from a place that has been special to you in this past year.
*If you have a joy or concern that you would like to have read during the Service, please submit it through our website: http://uufjc.org/joys--concerns.html

UUFJC Board - 1:30 pm
All are welcome to attend the board meeting.  Draft minutes of last month's meeting are posted on the bulletin board in the back of the Sanctuary and electronic copies are attached to this e-mail.
