Sunday, October 23rd, 2022:
This morning, we shared a recent message from our neighbors at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbia: "Plant Yourself in Rich Soil." Rev. Molly Housh-Gordon talked about how our connections create the "rich soil" for liberation and courage, like the roots of trees intertwining and supporting each other through agitation.
And we do need agitation. As our month of focus on Courage starts to wind down, I would also like to share these words from our wider UU community:
Do Not Fear Agitation
By Tania Márquez
Do not fear agitation, for agitation is the rhythm of life itself; to be put into motion, to be stirred.
Do not fear the movements that decenter what you always thought permanent.
You carry within the center of your understanding, the compass to show you the way.
Carry with you the love that will hold you, the vision that will guide you, the relationships to all beings and the world that will ground you. Go in peace and in gentle agitation to stir this world to the side of love.
For those who would like to keep up with our neighbors at the UU Church of Columbia, their service from this morning is available to view online: https://youtu.be/9xEEW0hPQMQ
Next Sunday, October 30th:
