UUFJC News and Events this week:
Frank Rycyk would like to thank everyone for the cake, cards and birthday wishes at last Sunday’s service. Frank will have several out of state visitors in attendance on Sunday, October 13, from the east coast: a brother, sister and sister-in-law!
On October 13th, Maridee Edwards will be delivering the Sunday message at UUFJC. This is a brief synopsis of what she'll talk about.
Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs. With the Soul Matters theme this month being Deep Listening, we can look, pause, and listen - - beyond words into the deeper messages under the surface of our interactions with others. Buddhist teachings can offer some tools to deepen our ability to listen, to hear, to see what is really happening, and rise above our limited perspective.
The scale of destruction in the wake of Hurricane Helene has been utterly devastating to many communities in the southeastern United States. Some Unitarian Universalist congregations have been seriously impacted and others are still trying to assess the damage. You can help support Unitarian Universalists and their communities as they recover from this storm by giving generously to the UUA’s Disaster Relief Fund. www.uua.org/giving/disaster-relief
