Part of the strength of the phrase is its openness to interpretation, the way it challenges each of us to seek the power of love and commit to it. It reminds Betty Cooper that our differences can add color rather than conflict to our lives, that real love is unconditional. It reminds Alexis Engelbrecht that the power of love is easy to affirm but a challenge to live up to, that it calls us to truly engage with each moment in all its uncertainty and tension. It reminds Katherine Connor that anger is too unstable a fuel in a long fight for justice; only love can sustain the strength we need.

Message: "Prayer for the Non-Believer," Rev. Krista Taves
Unitarian Universalists have a complicated relationship with prayer. What does it mean? To whom or to what are we praying and for what are we praying? Rev. Krista proposes a Unitarian Universalist theology of prayer that offers a path for the diverse expressions of our deepest yearnings and hopes.
Our guest speaker, Rev. Krista Taves is a UU minister currently serving at the UU Church of Quincy, Illinois.
