The Summer sun is here, shining its light and heat through the rain, and as Rev. Nancy pointed out in this morning's message, the season pushes both our gardens and ourselves into overdrive. Even in the swelter and rush, though, it's still possible to redirect our energies and bring them in line with our core passions. That process involves both conscious reflection and something a bit more unseasonable: finding enough silence and stillness to stop and listen.

This Thursday, July 23rd at 7 pm, Missouri River Regional Library hosts a musical performance: "Rekall—Roots, Rhythm and Rock." The duo Rekall features John Lowrance on vocals and nylon and steel-stringed guitars, and Phil Noll on electric guitar, fretless bass, Resophonic guitar, lap steel guitar and mandolin. The two-set presentation will feature a variety of songs, styles and instruments reflecting the diversity of popular music in America. Contact Madeline Matson.
