UUFJC News and Events this week:
Our annual Rummage Sale is now less than two weeks away: Saturday, June 18th from 7 am to 1 pm. There is a sign-up sheet for volunteers available by the entrance. As noted above, donations will be accepted starting next Sunday, June 12th. This year, we will try something new and sell most items on a "pay-what-you-want" basis; if you have a minimum price in mind for something you're donating, please mark it. Our building is reserved for Rummage Sale preparations, sale, and cleanup from Monday, June 13th through noon on Tuesday, June 21st; regular weekly events will not be held at the Fellowship during this time. If you have any questions, contact Lisa Sanning or Bob Antweiler.
The UUFJC board is requesting special donations to invest in our Fellowship's growth this year with child care, leadership development, and other initiatives. For more information or to donate please contact our Treasurer, Bob Antweiler.

And on the last Sunday of this month we will be holding a service to honor the influential men in our lives. Members have already volunteered to speak, but we still have space for poetry or short readings. If you would like to share a reading, please contact Laura Gilkey before next Sunday.
Community Events this week:
This Thursday, June 9th at 7 pm in their Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library presents: "Sustainability and American Food Production." Ever wondered if the U.S. food production system is what it should be? Are there flaws in the system? Is there a viable alternative to the current system? How does one account for the ever-growing incidence of obesity in American youth? What are the implications for young, “would-be farmers” and rural communities? Ponder these questions with Dr. John Ikerd, professor emeritus in agriculture economics from the University of Missouri, author of six books, and a leading figure in the sustainable agriculture movement. Co-sponsored by MRRL and The NEEED Project in concert with Lincoln University Cooperative Extension as part of the Healthy Schools-Healthy Communities program, coordinated by Capital Region Medical Center. Contact Madeline Matson.
Next Sunday, June 12th at 1:30 pm in their Art Gallery, MRRL hosts their Creative Cuisine Club. This month's theme: Fresh Summer Food. Reservations required; limited to 20 participants. Contact Madeline Matson.
This week, Capitol City Cinema presents "Dough" (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). For showtimes and more information, visit capitolcitycinema.org.
