UUFJC Newsletter, "Flame on the Water," August 2022
Special news note on our Parking Lot: work has begun on our parking lot, and it is scheduled to be re-paved tomorrow, Monday, August 8th. Please be alert for times you may need to avoid driving or parking on the lot. Many thanks to the anonymous donors who made this much-needed work possible!
Sunday, August 6th, 2022
This morning, Rev. Mike Adamek joined us to begin our theme for August: Compassion. If we act based on reason without compassion, we can become cruelly calculating, but if we act on compassion without reason, we can become enablers who let harmful behaviors go unchecked. Rev. Mike explored how to balance the factors we need to act ethically. As he said in his message title, compassion is not sufficient, but it is vital.
Next Sunday, August 14th:

"American Identities," Darius Watson
This discussion aims to unpack the history, psychology, and practical impact of identity in America. Watson is interim head of admissions at Lincoln University.
