This Thursday, May 5th, Capital Area Interfaith Alliance, Faith Voices for Jefferson City, and The Jefferson City Muslim Community are sponsoring a program on The Syrian Refugee Crisis with Middle East expert Rihab Sawah. It takes place at 6:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church.
Coming Monday, May 9th is the monthly UUFJC Lecture Series. This month, Michael Urban, PhD and Chair of the MU Department of Geography, will speak on the topic of Climate Science. Contact Carol Bontempo or Frank Rycyk.

This Tuesday, May 3rd at 7 pm in their Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library presents: "State of Baseball." Bill Clark spent 36 years as a major-league baseball scout and conducted more than 1,000 tryouts in the U.S. and other countries. He’s a great storyteller and will talk about his scouting years, how the game is played today, and Missouri’s two favorite teams. He writes a weekly column for the Columbia Daily Tribune. MRRL also presents their First Friday Film this Friday, May 6th at 7 pm in their Art Gallery. This month's selection: "Trumbo." In 1947, Dalton Trumbo was Hollywood’s top screenwriter until he and other artists were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs. Dalton used words and wit to win two Academy Awards and expose the absurdity and injustice of the blacklist. Contact Madeline Matson.
