This morning, Alexis Engelbrecht continued exploring our monthly theme of "Embodiment." Alexis led us to consider what certain emotions or characteristics would be like if they were people. For example, what would it be like to choose to hang out with Opportunity instead of Discouragement? What does it look like to live like Compassion? Some members took the challenge to select characteristics they might try to walk with or even intentionally embody this week.
We ended with closing words adapted from the The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi and a blessing written by Alexis:
[May I be an instrument of] Peace.
Where there is hatred, let me [be] Love.
Where there is offense, let me [be] Pardon.
Where there is discord, let me [be] Union.
Where there is error, let me [be] Truth.
Where there is doubt, let me [be] Faith.
Where there is despair, let me [be] Hope…

Message: "Accepting Joy That Lasts" Rev. Mike Adamek
Joy is not a goal or destination. It is not an idea or a concept we manufacture. It is a moment of bliss that should be welcomed as a blessing on the way and not owned or justified as a reward by an individual or group. How might we welcome joy into our lives?
