The UUFJC Board meets next Sunday, August 12th, at 6 pm at the Fellowship. They will be discussing and voting on a new social media and newsletter policy. All are welcome to attend the meeting, and all are invited to review the meeting agenda and the social media/newsletter policy draft. Paper copies are available on the bulletin board at the Fellowship, and electronic copies are available at the links. Please contact our President, Katherine Connor, or another member of our board with any comments or questions.
Coming in two weeks, on Sunday, August 19th after services, we will be having a Congregational Covenant-Building Session. This will only be the start of a process that we want to ensure everyone has a voice in. For more information, see the August newsletter or talk to our President, Katherine Connor. Coming Monday, August 13th at 7 pm is the monthly UUFJC Lecture Series. This month: "The Aging Brain" with Dr. Carolyn Perry. Dr. Perry will focus on new research about how creativity can help maintain a healthy brain. She will be teaching a course this fall about the aging brain at Westminster College, where she serves as vice president. This Tuesday, August 7th at 7 pm in their Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library presents Reel Life Cinema: "Wasted! The Story of Food Waste." The late Anthony Bourdain, along with other influential chefs, exposes the issue of food waste and how it contributes to climate change and shows how each of us can help to create a more secure food system.
