"UUFJC: A supportive, free thinking community that celebrates diversity and spiritual curiosity, grounded in reason, nurturing the courage to build a just and sustainable world."
The process is not over! For the next two weeks, we are inviting members and friends' comments on this draft. Then, we plan to adopt our vision statement at a meeting of the UUFJC Board on Sunday, November 29th at 1:30 pm. You are welcome to attend that board meeting and to contact any board member with your comments in the meantime.
And we have dreams beyond what one vision statement can hold! You are also invited to write your dreams and wishes for our Fellowship on the papers on the wall behind our piano using the color-coded markers provided.
Thank you to everyone who was there Saturday, and to everyone who takes part in the process going forward!

Join us for a special service that explores the significance of coming together as a community. We'll also be reminded of the Guest at Your Table program, which allows us to practice our Unitarian Universalist principles beyond our city limits.
You are invited to bring bread to share in the Bread Communion, and to share your bread recipes and memories in a cookbook that will be sold to benefit the Fellowship. Contact Alexis Engelbrecht.
If you have a joy or concern that you would like to have read during the Service, please submit it through our website: http://uufjc.org/joys--concerns.html

Community Events this week:
This Tuesday, November 17th at 7 pm in the Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library presents: "Mobilizing for War: The United States on the Homefront." To enter the Second World War, the United States had to mobilize not only a military but also a workforce and popular support. Mobilizing American workers and American morale meant confronting challenging issues of racial inequality, women and the family, shortages of food and housing, and others. Dr. Catherine Rymph, professor of history at the University of Missouri, will discuss how American society was transformed in significant and sometimes unintended ways by the war. Contact Madeline Matson.
This Thursday, November 19th at 7 pm, Columbia Area NOW meets at the Hy-Vee Restaurant at Broadway and Fairview in Columbia. Non-members and new members are welcome. Contact Sue Gibson.
This week, Capitol City Cinema presents "Tombstone" (Tuesday evening only), "Kids Flicks" (Saturday only) and "Experimenter: The Stanley Milgram Story" (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). For showtimes and more information, visit capitolcitycinema.org.
